Oh work...

It's been too long since my last update! I wanted updating to be a pretty regular thing, but I have just been so swamped with work. I come home so incredibly drained, and I'll admit that it upsets me. It makes working such early hours seem not worth it. On the plus side, I am saving a lot of money in food because I pack a lunch. That's opposed to having to buy a dinner every night (because I never knew until 11pm when or if I will be working the next day - Thanks Pulse!). I'm sorry, but they make it too easy to point out shortcomings. Pulse, not LifeStar... LifeStar has been great so far.

In addition to working, I have been planning my after-college life. I am going to be attending PA school somewhere. There is going to be a year off in which I'll work as an EMT. The plan now is for me to move to the Phoenix area in May or June of next year. I'm not going to miss the humidity of living in New Jersey, or my lack of independence here. I'm just really tired of being here.

Last thing that I wanted to get out was if anyone wants to come to the Outerbanks in August, let me know. It's free, minus the fact that you have to spend time with me. It'll be fun though, promise! I guess if anyone wants to move to Arizona next year, let me know about that too. I would appreciate the company.

Back to work...

Alright so tomorrow marks my first day of non-training at LifeStar Response. Should be a fun time, I miss being in an ambulance. Before training on Friday and Saturday I hadn't been in an ambulance for almost three weeks. That sucked. Now getting back to work does have its downside, mostly my early hours. It's nice to be done early and eat dinner with the family, but these are some wicked early hours. Here is my permanent schedule:

Tuesday: 5am - 3pm
Wednesday: 6am - 4pm
Thursday: 7am - 7pm
Friday: 6am - 4pm

Being able to have a three day weekend is great. I think it's worth having to work the early hours, but we shall see!

Now on a completely different note I watch this movie Last Dispatch. It's all about the band, Dispatch, mostly their last show and the events leading up to it. Definitely worth checking out as they are an extremely laid back band and that is heard through their music. Anyways, I posted my favorite song of theirs, "The General." Take a break, sit back, and give this tune a listen.

I usually proceed to do everything in my power to absolutely destroy any chance that I may or may not have. It's usually pretty bad. Fun to watch. I know that much; I've been told so. The details tend to be pretty "gruesome," so I won't go into them. I'll spare you all the carnage.

Interviews - not my "thing"

I used to think they were. Turns out they really aren't. If it were up to me to decide I would say this, interviews do not solely reflect the character of the interviewee, but rather that of the interviewer's ability to bring out the "true" character of the interviewee. So it's pretty obvious that today I had a pretty lackluster interview experience. I'm not placing any blame anywhere, that was just my bit of social commentary for the day.

Speaking of social commentary, or just sociology in general. The movie "Feast of Love," is a great example. Well worth checking out.

Back to the interview. Like I said, the interview was, "eh." The position that interview was for was excellent though. It's a great way to gain supervisor/managerial experience while still being able to practice as an EMT. Huge bonus, pediatric patients! They are definitely way more fun than the old folks. No offense old folks, buy you are always pissed off, whereas kids are usually crying initially, but five minutes later they are smiling whilst sucking on a lollipop.

The position also allows me to on quite a few neat trips. The list that I was shown included trips to:

Boston
New York City (Broadway and Yankees Game)
Ohio (Amusement Park tour through Pennsylvania)
The Poconos
Toronto/Niagra Falls

There were a few more day trips included, but I cannot remember them. It would definitely be a lot of fun, and I kind of miss enjoying summer and just playing games. Riding in an ambulance is fun and all, but camp is definitely more fun. I need to meet with the nurse that oversees all other medical personnel at the camp next week, and I really need to get on the New York Department of Health with getting me reciprocity. Hopefully I get the job!

Vox Hunt: Workin' Hard

Unpacking

I cannot seem to motivate myself enough to unpack this crap. I've been home since Saturday. It is now Wednesday, soon to be Thursday and all I have unpacked has been my computer, and some socks and underwear. I'm thinking when I wake up tomorrow I'm going to drown myself in some coffee and just go at it.

There really isn't a whole lot to unpack, a lot of it is just staying in storage and I'll just plop that in my car and bring it back to school in August. Any words of motivation are much appreciated. I'll just recite the words, "I think I can," throughout the whole ordeal. That's bound to work.

Finally, I am seriously going to stop doing that dumb bold/italic pre-entry briefing. It's worthless, and that bothers me.

"Home"

So I'm back in New Jersey living with the family, "home" if you will. Can't say I'm in love with the situation, but what are you going to do? I left State College around 5:30 this morning got in to Wyckoff at around 8:30, three hours is not bad at all. No stupid truck drivers on I-80. There was quite a bit of fog, and some deer. Either way, not that bad.

I suppose it's really nice to be finished with final exams. They were brutal this semester, and I have no real idea as to why. Again, just great to be finished.

I'm super tired. I didn't unpack anything. I did one single productive thing today and that required very little effort on my part. I ordered a watch, work pants for the summer, and a new belt for those pants. Pathetic.

I think I'm going to hit the hay now. G'night.

The comeback kid

Before I officially start, I would like to say that I am a very underwhelming comeback kid... Also, all of my old posts were deleted because they were all terrible. I have some horrid things in my life, but those were just the absolute bottom of the barrel. I apologize, and hope that these new posts are worthy of you all.

I needed to start up the whole blog thing again. Life is pretty bland without somewhere to write my lame jokes, tell my boring stories, and just vent. At this point in time I should really be studying for my management final, which goes off at 9:45AM tomorrow. I think I'm allowed a study break, so this is it.

Summer starts on Friday for me. Not really sure what's going on there, but I'm sure this will help me get through it. There will most definitely be a lot of work, some humor, and I'm sure a whole lot of aggravation. Hopefully, there will be some interesting posts because of it.

I would really like to give a video post a shot every once in a while. Kind of awkward, but it could be some fun? I'll give that a shot soon. Let me know what you think, if you have an opinion at all.
